Order & Ostentation was loosely inspired by the story of Salem's Elizabeth Derby West, a woman known for ostentatious clothing who used a scandalous strategy to win her day in court.  We created a series of black & white backdrops inspired by courtroom architecture and provided headpieces made by Grace & Diggs to wear as a contrast against the rigidity of black and white lines.

In fall of 2021, Covid restrictions were easing up and many of us found that we were not ready to go out into the world again. Charles Dickens' character, the reclusive Miss Havisham, seemed a fitting model for this immersive event.  We created a decaying parlour out of thrift store finds, provided guests with headpieces made of recycled curtains and invited them in to explore the parlour and strike a pose.
