Featured Art Shows at Grace & Diggs, 2019 "3 Questions:" Artists' Receptions
In addition to the artists whose work is at Grace & Diggs throughout the year, we also host featured artists for 6-week shows. We are excited to present this line-up of featured artists at Grace & Diggs and have some special evenings planned around their work. As a part of each show, we host an evening called, "3 QUESTIONS." We've got 3 questions to ask each artist. Their answers set the course for discussion and socializing to follow. Events are free.
3 QUESTIONS FOR SUSAN j SCHRADER Friday, July 5th 6-8pm Susan's work is on display until July 21st I was first attracted to Susan's work because of its whimsical nature. I remain fascinated by it because I constantly find new themes to explore: how we occupy space, the role of our limbs, the nature of our built environments, what it feels like to scramble through our days. In addition to large pieces, we also have Susan's hand-painted ceramics for sale.
3 QUESTIONS FOR CLAUDIA PARASCHIV Friday, July 26th, 7:30pm - 9:30pm Show runs Wednesday, July 24th through Monday, September 16th The work of Claudia Paraschiv of Studiofiul examines shapes made by the peels, shells, discarded elements of our food. It is an important message: that art is found in the most humble places if we will only look. And that decay can be as lovely to look at, as it is in its extended purpose of nourishing another generation.
